What History leaves in us

What History Leaves in Us traces the histories we carry in our bodies, memories, and relationships to place. Moving between Jamaica and Detroit, the exhibition reflects on what remains with us across time and distance—and how memory can become both inheritance and transformation.

Remembering Yellow is an intimate study of selfhood, using portraiture, color, and symbolism to explore softness, belonging, and the freedom of becoming fully oneself. Inspired by the spirit of Junkanoo, the series turns celebration and defiance into a vivid language of personal expression.
